MAU LOA
“MAU LOA” is a native Hawaiian phrase meaning Forever. I’ve always been drawn to imagery of candid moments. I think that those are the most honest and genuine.
I wanted to give the figure a look of wonder and awe and keep a theme. The woman was originally drawn and was intended to be a Native American. Per usual, I decided to change the theme up. 2013 Illustration -

ASPHYXIA DIABOLIKA
Considering our current state of affairs in America, I was inspired by certain people in powers regard and dictatorial nature towards private institutions, particularly Christian and Catholic ones.
Asphyxia or asphyxiation (from Greek α- “without” and σφύξις sphyxis, “heartbeat”) is a condition of severely deficient supply of oxygen to the body that arises from being unable to breathe normally. An example of asphyxia is choking. 2013 Illustration -
